Hesta Scene gallery, Caldbeck

I’ve just been invited to display my work at Hesta Scene gallery in Caldbeck. Karen Kennedy and Julie Coghlan established the gallery in 2009, with the name Hesta Scene coming from the Cumbrian word ‘Hesta’ which translates to ‘have you’. They are both passionate about quality hand made produce and promote a great variety of work by local artists and craftspeople.

I've introduced a selection of my most popular pieces, which will be exhibited alongside work by some of the regions best artists. These include Lara Aldridge bespoke glassware and Julia Smith ceramics.

Caldbeck is one of Cumbria’s most beautiful villages and is situated towards the north of the Lake District, not too far from Keswick. As you can see in the main photo, it really is quite tranquil, with every attraction being just a short stroll from the main (and free!) car park.

In fact, if you were heading into the Lakes, this would be a perfect stop off point. There are some fantastic short walks, which take in great views of the surrounding hills. From the top of Caldbeck common, you can see the whole of the Solway estuary, with views stretching from the west coast right through to the Scottish borders.

If you are looking for some refreshments during your visit, you won’t be disappointed. You can call into the oddfellows arms, a traditional village pub, which offers a good range of local ales and a restaurant in a converted barn. Also, Priests Mill offers some delicious home cooked food, set in a converted watermill and right beside the river.
