Huge oak burr

Just thought I’d post some photos of this magnificent burr, which I spotted at the sawmill this week. I was lucky to be calling in, just as it was being planked and managed to get these shots. It would certainly have made an outstanding bowl, but had already been earmarked for furniture - I’ll have to place my order for the next one…

The tree was being cut into natural edge boards, which could be used for bed heads, or table tops. The burry edge would certainly make an interesting feature.
