This is what I've been searching for!
I’ve been on the lookout for burr elm of late, but my search has now come to an end. Whilst visiting a sawmill in Northumberland, I discovered a huge pile of tree trunks, which had been standing for many years.
After a second visit, I had a good look around and agreed to purchase them all. This is a big pile too, with about 35 - 40 tons available - I may need to arrange some storage! I hired two extra vans to bring back a selection, but this has barely dented the pile! However, there's plenty for me to work with now and the rest will be arriving next month.
Okay, now everyone head for your van…

Three van loads of timber back at my yard. The vast majority of the wood will be processed into blanks, with many featuring natural edges. I’ll have a good sort through soon and post some more photo's...
