Wych elm crush mills

Here’s a sneak preview of my latest set of crush mills. They’re made from wych elm and incorporate the same sycamore and walnut inlays, as featured in the beech version.

As with all my crush mills, they are hollowed out and pre turned from kiln dried timber. I then allow them to stabilise inside for a month, before completing the final shape. Done this way, I can make the connection between lid and base very accurate, without any risk of jamming.
